The May Face Base.
A Boots three for two offer means one thing: a new base for my face. Summertime is when I truly embrace that whole no makeup-makeup thing that everyone bangs on about. Because my skin has finally started to mellow out I've been whipping out the lighter base like there's no tomorrow, and let me tell you my skin has been loving me for it. A face full of makeup might work for some, but for me I love those days where you can embrace your skin. Here's what I've been using to simply enhance rather than cover my features...
Diorskin Nude BB Creme
Hello old friend. I'm very close to running out of this lovely tinted moisturiser because it was pretty much all I wore on my face last summer. This BB Creme is the only one I've tried out of the marketing ploy, and I just know that it's be the cream of the crop. It's a very lightweight yet perfecting base that, while keeping my skin moisturised, somehow manages to stays put all day long. I'm finding myself reaching for this every day recently because it gives my skin a well needed boost. I wouldn't say it was the most covering, but for those who want a sheer wash of colour to their complexion then look no further.
Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer
After hearing so many rave reviews on this product, I caved and picked it up last week. This concealer from Maybelline is perfect at balancing out dark circles, whilst keeping the under eye area hydrated. The sponge applicator is a little controversial amongst most, but I personally like dotting the product on my face with it - easy and effective some might say. This concealer is one of those really easy products that you can layer on through out the day without it looking cakey or unnatural. I'd found myself lusting after the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for months, but I think that this has definitely satisfied my need for now.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
When it comes to applying my foundation, I'm more of a brush girl for definite so I'd been putting off buying this sponge amidst the raving reviews. We all know about my obsession with the Kardashians, and after seeing Kim's makeup being applied with a Beauty Blender I decided to pick this up on a whim. Coincidentally, I love this grubby little thing. Yes it doesn't ever go back orange after using it, but so what? It's absolutely fantastic at applying foundation. Wet or dry, this thing will work wonders at really pressing/buffing your base of choice into your skin. I'm not saying that my buffing brush is gone for good, but this is a serious contender.
What will you be using on your face this spring/summer?
